Hello my friend! Welcome to my blog! Today you will learn how to post banner ads in a safelist.
The first thing is you must know how to copy and paste your banner URL and your destination URL into the form provided in the safelist. I show you here in the video how to copy and paste using a Windows computer.
So let’s say you have a business opportunity that you love and that you are an affiliate for.
They usually provide you with what is commonly called “affiliate tools”.
Affiliate tools are where you can find image links aka banner URLs and the destination links aka affiliate URLs to advertise your business with. The destination link should be your lead capture page leading to your affiliate offer.
Firstly, go to your “affiliate tools” section of whatever offer or product that you are promoting and get the banner URL from your back office. Copy and paste your banner URL and your affiliate URL into a safe place (like a Gmail draft) that you can easily get to so that you can copy and paste them into the safelist.
Here is an example picture below of a banner URL and how it will show on the screen when you cue it up.
It is very important that you get and keep all of your affiliate links somewhere safe and handy so that you can access them when you need to so that you do not miss an opportunity to promote the business that you love.
A good place to keep your affiliate links and banner URLs is either in a draft in your Gmail account or in a Google Docs form that is linked to your email address. Either way is a good fairly safe place to keep your links and ad copy that you should have access to anytime when you need it.
Here is what it may look like when you save your banner image URL and your affiliate URL in your Gmail draft:
For example, if you’re out and about on your phone and someone reaches out on social media to ask you about your opportunity you want that lead capture page URL handy so you can send them to it when they ask. If your offer URL is sitting in a draft in your Gmail that is already available to you on your phone then it takes just a moment to copy and paste that URL and give it to the interested party. Bam done!
The first thing you want to do once you have your banner URL and destination URL is to find the spot where your banner ads live within the safelist that you are using. In Explosive Mailer – the safelist I use for this demonstration- the banners are located to the upper left on this red bar where it says “my offers”- hover and then click the button that says “my offers” and it will take you to a form that looks like this seen below:
Once you have clicked on “banners” as instructed above it will take you to a form that looks like this:
The top is where you copy and paste your banner image URL. The bottom is where you copy and paste your destination URL. Some of the safelists take an HTTP image only and some need an HTTPS image to work properly.
Each safelist is different in this regard so you may not know until you try to copy and paste for the first time whether or not it will accept it. The same goes for the destination link as well. Some safelists want the https. Some do not.
If it doesn’t accept the https then take off the “s” and try again.
So copy your banner URL into the top box. Then copy and paste your destination URL into the box right below it. Then hit submit and it should reload the page and send you to where you can see your banner and assign impressions to it.
And if you followed the steps correctly your banner image should display correctly where you can see it. If it does not then your banner image may be the wrong size. The image dimensions for banners in a safelist are usually 468×80 or 125×125 pixels. This is standard for the safelist and viral mailer world.
The link that you use should be your affiliate URL for whatever product or service that you are promoting. The affiliate link that you use ideally should be a lead capture page like the one shown here.
A “lead capture page” is a page that is created to capture the interested parties’ name and email address so that you can keep in contact with them AFTER they view your offer.
Here is a real-world real-time example of a 468 x 60 banner and destination URL as it should look in the safelist when you are done, It is 468 x 60 pixels and is clickable to the related offer.
